The Halloween season is full of traditions. We dress up our children, knock on the doors of strangers, hand out sugar-filled candy to children and play tricks on our guests. There is nothing more fun than to hear the knock on the door, the shuffling of feet and the ruffle of bags as children in their costume scream, “Trick or Treat?!”
When your neighbors stop by for your Halloween gathering, make sure to offer up this mischievous Trick or Treat appetizer for your friends. Remind them how much you enjoy their company, but that you would appreciate it if they help you “clean up the mess.” Their reaction will be priceless.
Trick or treat?! Trick please.
1 lb. skirt steak
2 tablespoon dry chipotle rub
1 tablespoon dry oregano
3 tablespoon Bari’s Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO)
1 small avocado
½ cup of fresh cilantro
½ cup of sour cream (Mexican sour cream)
½ cup of Bari’s Arbequina EVOO
1 garlic clove
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 large tomato
¼ yellow onion
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Please do not use the overrated and boring ground meat. No person should ever use ground meat for nachos, ever. The Steak requires very few ingredients, this type of meat already has a lot of flavor.
Step 1: Prepare steak
·Add all the ingredients to the steak making sure is completely cover
·Let it marinate in the fridge for at least two hour or overnight.
Step 2: Cook steak
·Heat up the grill or skillet
·Grill the steak for about 4 minutes per side
·Remove and let it rest for 10 minutes
Step 3: Cut steak
·Cut into small bites (Make sure to cut the meat against the grain)
Step 1: Prepare sauce
·Add all the ingredients into a food processor
·Blend until smooth (you can add more sour cream for creamier consistency and omit the jalapeno if you can’t handle a little heat, but I will suggest to give the jalapeno a chance, at least a little bit)
Step 2: Prepare toppings
·Chop 1 tomato, chop ¼ cup of yellow onion
·Set aside for topping.
Step 1: Organize ingredients according to example in picture
·Carve the pumpkin with the desire face
·Arrange the meat first
·Then the sauce
·Top with the chop tomatoes and onions.
